Exulting Images is the only professional dance photography company in the Carolinas that offers in-studio, on-site and event services. Each member of the Exulting Images team either once was or still is active in the world of dance. Collectively, they have more than 60 years of first-hand dance experience.
Having opened their dream studio in 2020 after 12 years in business, owners Mike and Julia Farella engaged Beyond Marketing in conversation in Fall 2021. Initially, the scope of the project encompassed only a new website. After learning of Mike and Julia’s journey and their aspirations for the future, however, it was clear that a total rebrand would be a critical piece to their strategic plan.
In January 2022, following exemplary collaboration, we launched the new Exulting Images website – complete, of course, with spectacular photography.
Why Exulting Images Chose Us
Exulting Images grew from the ground up, fueled by passion, determination and grit, and Mike and Julia wanted a marketing agency with similar roots. They knew there was likelihood of getting lost with a big agency and were set on finding a firm that was known for being high-touch, values-driven and results-oriented. For the owners to confidently give over their “baby,” they needed assurance of partnership and trust. Following their own due diligence, as well as one-on-one and roundtable conversations with our team, we were full steam ahead.
Logo Design
At Beyond Marketing, we are invested in our clients’ success. If we see a marketing blindspot, we bring attention to it – not as an upselling opportunity; because we care.
In the case of Exulting Images, we perceived their logo to be at odds with their product. Knowing it was the brand mark they’d proudly showcased since the founding of their business, we anticipated that it might be a point of contention. But, having established a relationship built on trust, it wasn’t at all. The owners’ only request was that we maintained their original colors.
Mike and Julia chose to partner with our brand strategist to create their new logo, ultimately selecting a mark that:
- Suggests motion and outward movement
- Feels energized and celebratory
- Indicates the axes on which dancers’ pose
- Nods at the camera focus ring
- Features professional, serif type

Once the rebrand was underway, we visited the Exulting Images photography studio in Fort Mill to see the magic happen. As are all of our field trips (okay, “site visits”), our time with the ei team was as insightful as it was inspiring as we:
- Produced copy that captures the vision, values, spirit and professionalism of Exulting Images;
- Developed a dynamic website that clearly communicates ei’s professional services and carefully-designed experience;
- Delivered on our promise that photography would be the hero in every layout, ensuring every image was satisfactorily cropped and precisely placed;
- Optimized the website for industry and local search;
- Elevated ei’s digital perception with a distinct and memorable design.
