Newcomer with Deep Roots
At Beyond Marketing, we pride ourselves on being high-touch with every client – whether they’re down the road with a regional customer base, or across the country with a footprint to match. Our work with BizLeads provided our team with a project that involved one of our favorite combinations: a local client of national significance.
Owned by American City Business Journals, BizLeads is a sophisticated and super user-friendly lead generation tool that offers valuable insight into 30 million businesses and 80 million key contacts coast to coast. Unlike other prospecting products, the BizLeads database is populated with self-reported data – making it the most accurate and up-to-date product of its kind.
The BizLeads team needed help earning attention in a fairly crowded market and engaged our team to create:
- Refreshed logo and visual identity guide
- Crisp, clean, inviting website
- Welcoming, but to-the-point, copy
- Easy-to-interpret custom graphics
Our team’s first challenge was to clear a new hurdle. At this point, every project we’d done to date had either quality assets we could use or else people or products we could photograph. BizLeads, in contrast, is a database. Screen grabs of the platform would communicate only so much; we needed to bring the product to life.
It started with the logo. Although the initial BizLeads brand mark had strong “bones”, it was due for a refresh. The updated logo features subtle but deliberate edits that relay:
- Professionalism, optimism and approachability
- Funneled data; accuracy
- Direct relationship to American City Business Journals
Once the refreshed visual identity was established, the next step was for the Beyond Marketing team to see BizLeads in action. We attended a product demo, similar to what a prospective customer would experience, and then set to work on creating SEO-driven copy and dynamic, relevant custom illustrations.
The New BizLeads
Following nearly 200 hours of in-depth research, hands-on design and implementation, and numerous conversations with the BizLeads marketing, sales and tech teams, in May 2022 we launched the new BizLeads website. The distinct design stands out among their competitors; ranks in Google search results; provides prospective customers with easily-digested information; and enables seamless navigation to stand-out calls to action.
